I’ve recently made a change to my newborn studio sessions and I think it’s going to be good for everyone! Besides just photos of the baby, I was taking photos of the entire family, whether it was against a white backdrop or on a bed. In the past few months, I realized that adding the family photos just added more stress to the session. Either the kids were loud and woke the baby, or baby slept fine during the family photos but then was awake for the newborn photos, or it was really hard to work around family school/work schedules.
I still love how the family photos look and it’s often my favorite part of the session…but now, I’m separating them. It’s an additional cost to add on family photos, but I will come to your house, you can come here, whatever works, but we can schedule them for an evening when everyone is home or a Saturday morning or whatever works for your schedule!
I’ve had three sessions this way now, and it is way more relaxing for both mom and me! I can just focus on the baby and mom didn’t have to worry about getting herself and her entire family ready for photos.
Newborn studio sessions usually take place within 7-14 days after baby’s birth and the add-on family portrait can take place up to 2 months after the baby is born.
Here are some photos from Nate and Jayla’s family newborn session! Bear was the cutest baby with all that hair and it was evident that the entire family is in love with him!
