Ahhh...Day in the Life. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with them. It's a lot of work to document an entire day of my life (mostly because it is incredibly hard to parent and take meaningful photos, especially in public) but I do have a lot of fun doing it. I love capturing all the little details that make our family who it is today - the fun, the traditions, the annoyances, the way our house looked two days before school started in August 2016.
I had no intention of doing a Day in the Life this week, but I'm an alumni helper for The Documentary Approach and this week their assignment is a DITL. Monday morning when I woke up, I realized that school starts on Wednesday and this was my last chance to document a fairly typical summer day. So...here it is.
We ran errands in the morning which we normally don't do a lot of in the summer. I was happy that my sister and brother-in-law were working (they run the Ace Hardware in York) and we were able to chat with them for awhile! Our afternoon was pretty typical - kids had some Kindle/Minecraft/Stampylonghead time, I did some church work and chores, and then we went swimming!
I realized that we rarely saw Curtis this day - he was pretty busy with bin work and irrigating, but at least he was home for lunch and supper!
Here is a slideshow of my Day in the Life back in April. I already feel like our life has changed so much!
If you are interested in a storytelling session for your own family, I would love to talk to you! Find out more about my sessions by clicking here or contact me for more information!
