On the Farm - February

February started out with a blizzard that pretty much shut down the entire state.  It was nice to have Curtis and the kids home from school knowing that we wouldn't be going anywhere!

Since outside was very winter-like, the boys spent much of their time in the shop working on building a new planter and various other parts and pieces.

Of course, there is always the 3:00 p.m. coffee time to catch up on the latest news and happenings.

By the end of the month, it was super nice outside (for February), so Curtis did some work around our farm.  He had a curious little helper for some tasks!

Once he was done with spreading dry fertilizer, Curtis washed the dry spreader and the tractor.  Gotta keep those machines clean (as our daughter would say - "As clean as the beans are green!").

Trucks were rumbling on and off our yard hauling corn for most of the month.

On the last day of the month, Curtis took advantage of the sunshine and picked up the leftover packing materials from the new pivot.  It's a seemingly small job, but something that has to be done before spring field work begins!

You can find all of my "Year on the Farm" photos under the Year on the Farm tab at the top...I'll be posting periodically in there and at the end of each month as a blog post.
